Amanda, maybe he'll be done cooking early then, and you won't have to wait 5 more weeks. I'm super jealous! I really really want to go early, but I'm sure I'm jinxing myself that way. Smile

Yeah...I was thinking the same thing. Maybe I'll go early! Very Happy And yet, that really would screw up my maternity leave plans. I was hoping to take 8 weeks off, fly my sister down to cover the one week I would have to go back to school, and then be done for the summer. If little one decides to come early, or they decided to induce me because he is the size of a sumo, I'll have to go back to teach several weeks...and have no daycare or family here to take care of him. No Not good. On top of that, my mother has already threatened me with death if I have him early. She is planning on flying down but not until Easter Sunday...and she certainly doesn't want to meet him for the first time when he's 6 weeks old. Oh..the PLANNING involved in this whole having-a-baby thing!

Week: 36
Weight Gain so far: 38lbs!!
Blood Pressure: 111/66
Belly measurement: 36 - right on!
Dilation/Effacement: Effaced at 25%, the Dr says I am exactly where I need to be (even though I was hoping I would be dialated by now!)
Urine: none this time, thank goodness I cant ever see the cup so I always miss
Next appt: Next Wed! 2/25
Tests: Had the Strp B thing done, wasn't bad at all!
Baby's sex:Boy
Baby's name:Ryder
Other: In my birth class they talk about how aweful getting checked is, so when the Dr wanted to check my cervix I was so scared! But it wasnt bad at all!! I don't know if its because I am not dialated yet or what but it just felt like a regular physical exam. So I was happy it didn't hurt and I didnt bleed at all so either my Dr is really good, or I am just in for a big awakening once I start dialating LOL. Only one more month till he gets here YAY

Becky, its never bad for me either, even when I am dialated...I think its just different for everyone. And I think the most "tense" you are the worse it is, kinda like when you get a pap...

I didn't bleed at all after internals with Olivia, even though my OB warned me that it would be totally normal, and this time I have only bled once...so I guess it all depends.

Amanda - That is so exciting that you get to see Danny again before he arrives, I haven't had an U/S past 22W with either pregnancy, so I am guessing its super cool when they are so close to being born, you can see their features, etc. Every OB is different about inducing due to size, so I wouldn't be afraid to ask what the "plan" would be for you, can't hurt to ask.

I've also been told by my doc that I could take oral benadryl for my uncontrollable itching. I had no idea it could speed up labor though!

Week: 35 weeks, 2 days
Weight Gain so far: holding steady at 4 pounds lost overall
Blood Pressure: 124/78
Belly measurement: didn't get the number, but she said it was right on track
Dilation/Effacement: 1-2 cm, didn't say effacement but did say baby's head is right there!
Urine: fine
Next appt: Feb 25
Tests: u/s tomorrow for growth, NST on Monday
Baby's sex: it's a surprise
Baby's name: Liliana Grace or Brandon Foster
Other: she did give me the group b strep test today, no biggie, but I was just under the assumption that she would just list me as + since she did that with the last 2 babies. She decided to do an internal but didn't think anything was going on. She was very surprised and said that the head is right there and that I'm 1-2 cm already. I never got things going this early with any of the others, so this is exciting for me! She said since my sugars are so well controlled, that I don't have to have the NST 2 times a week (like the other ob told me I did) so I'm glad for that. Tomorrow is the growth u/s, I'm excited for another peek at baby and very curious as to how big he/she is.

That is exciting that you get to see the baby tomorrow. Let us know how the ultrasound goes and yay for only one NST a week. I just had my last one today. Your little might be here sooner than you think.
