dizziness and got sick

so i called my OB because i felt VERY VERY dizzy this morning...i know its common but i am at the point of almost passing out....i got into work and i started to get sick and throw up the little bit of what was in my stomach. I am eating something now and drinking lots of water....but im still concerned...the doc told me to eat and drink and if in a little bit im still not feeling great to come in to be checked....this is kinda scary because i have not felt like this my WHOLE pregnancy. Im kinda scared if im not feeling better how would i get to the hospital?

Do you have anyone at work that could drive you? Or could your DH come and pick you up? I wondered the same thing when I had the stomach flu, there was no way I could drive myself.

I am hoping its just low blood sugar or something like that, keep us posted

i work for a Internal Med doc so im waiting for her to come in to check my blood pressure....its just really scary! I think if i really needed someone to drive me the doc would or i can call my DH but he works in Chicago and im about an hour...so i would have to wait for him....i will let you girls know! im sure its nothing, but something in my head and body is telling me i should just get checked!

If your body is telling you to go get checked then you should go. If you had to can you call an ambulance? I know since I am home alone now during the day I have thought too how in the world would I get to the hospital. My family is 45 mins away and my DH is a good 30 mins away.

Then I would be sure to have it checked. My OB told me at my last appointment she wanted to hear from me for 4 major reasons:

1 - My Water Broke
2 - I was having contractions that were 5 minutes apart
3 - Movement had slowed down
4 - I just had a gut feeling something wasn't right...

Listen to your gut, get it checked

Hope your feeling better. Like other pp said go with your gut feeling, dont 2nd guess yourself. Ive done that in past pgs. and wish I would of went with my gut. Take care and update us when you can.

ok...i am home...i did go with my gut and went into see the doctor. My BP was low. it was 80/ cant remember...but the doc commented on how low it was. I usually run low but not that low! So that is what is causing the dizziness....but they did the NST and baby M was moving around so much she would not sit till for 1 min...then she must have went to sleep. Everything with her is ok...so im hoping just resting for a little while. I felt like i wasted the doctors time but i rather be safe then sorry!

NEVER worry about wasting their time, I mean seriously, now much of our time do we waste in their waiting rooms, I am glad you went and very glad that everything is okay with Baby M.

i agree you can never be wasting their time, happy that you know what is wrong, how do you raise you blood pressure, if it is that low. what did the doc advise.

Sorry you aren't feeling well. The flu is awful. Takes it completely out of you, especially pregnant!

I just got out of the hospital myself yesterday morning. I woke up Friday, feeling like I had morning sickness again, and threw up a bit. Then I went to work feeling pretty good. By lunch, I was so sick, and starting throwing up bad. Which made me start having contractions, cause I got dehydrated I think. Well we went to ER at 6, and the admitted me, and by 1 am I was having contractions 2 mins apart. I'm on procardia now every 4 hours. I'm still having them, but not as close together. I go in Thursday to see how things look. I'm right between 34 and 35 weeks. I would really like to make it to at least 37!

Always go with your gut! Don't ever feel like you are wasting your doctor's time. That is why you pay them and I am sure that your doctor would rather you be safe than sorry too! My doctor has always told me that if I have a concern or question do not hesitate to call. I am glad everything is OK. Rest and relax. Take advantage of it...you won't have much longer to do that!

thanks girls for all your kind words...i rather be safe then sorry but they really did squeeze me in. As for the BP they told me to wear pregnancy pantyhose to keep the blood up where it belongs and out of my legs which they were not swollen. They said keep drinking lots of water and eat for the calories. I go today for my normal doc check up. The doc i saw yesterday was on call.

glad things are going well. let us know what your regular doc says. take it easy.
