Glucose test question
I have an appointment scheduled for a glucose test next friday (Dec. 19th), I'll be 28 weeks.
I'm switching my health insurance next year and will also be switching dr's offices b/c of this. Would it be okay for me to cancel my appt and just get the glucose test with the new dr? It would save me some money but I want to make sure that its okay. I already scheduled an appt on January 5th with the new Dr. I'll be 30 weeks by then. When I called to make the appointment I asked the nurse and she said that it was up to me but she didn't sound really reassuring. She was like its up to you, you might want to do it to get it over with it. If there are no health risks for me to wait 2 more weeks than I would rather do that. Sorry if this seems silly, I'm just new at this and want to make sure that I make the best decision!

Re: Glucose test question
Usually the test is between 24 and 28 weeks. That's when the placenta will start messing things up, and gd will show up, if it's going to. Personally, I wouldn't wait past 28 weeks. Odds are you don't have it, but if you do then there's 2 weeks gone you could have been treating yourself properly.
Sorry, probably not what you wanted to hear!

30 weeks is to late. I would just get it done at the last appt with your current OB.

I also agree with Karen. My doctor said the test should be given between 24-28 weeks. If you do have it you can start getting treated for it. I found out I have GD on December 1st and I am still waiting for my appt with the doctor. Thankfully my appt is on Monday, but you don't know how long you may have to wait for an appt.

Thanks for the input ladies...I definitely don't want to put it off if I shouldn't. I just thought if I could save a buck I would...lol.
