Sorry I am a day late. I was laying on the sofa all day with bad stomach pains and back pains. I am all good now. Well for the most part.

Other: My appt was pushed back today, I didn't get the message, anyhow I was 10 minutes late and the doc's office was locked! Well, my appt was for 12 then I was informed that they had to puch back all appts and I'm scheduled for 1, ok so I just sat in the van till 1... with ds#2, not to fun. So I didn't ask but the doc (who is not my reg.) offered the info that they moved the appts, from 11-12 so that they could watch the inaugranation!! It didn't bother me too much but my friend and my mom felt that that was very unprofessiona; to do that. so I was so tired after all that, I didn't make dinner tonight, Crazy that that wears me out!! haha! Brennen had a kid cusine and Mason had a grilled cheese, DH had to fend for himself

Other: We toured the birthing center today. It's crazy to think we'll be there in ten-ish weeks for real!

I really dont have much to add. I was so irritated at my last visit that she was running an hour behind i didnt ask much info.

Other: We are still looking into the option of homebirthing. I am interviewing a n/m but we seem to be playing phone tag. If it works out, we will be laboring and hopefully birthing in a pool set up in my kitchen! I am very excited but nervous about it all. I have been doing alot of reading on pain free births, free birthing, water birthing, orgasmic birthing, hypno birthing, in hopes that this will go as easy as possible for the both of us. DH is showing great support in all this. I am still addicted to watching births on YouTube. I feel like i am running out of time to prepare for all this. Hopefully it just comes to gether in the end. My new moto.. Surrender it all! Surrender to the pain!

ETA.. My next apt is in 3 weeks. The n/m knows i am fine and i would call if i was concerned. Basically the apts are a waist of time for me. I check my b/p at walmart or cvs when im there adn i have a doppler. The only thing i cant check is my urine. She is also encouraging me to go ahead with the home birth. I am glad i have her approval and encouragment.

Lisa~ did you change Owen's middle name? Did I miss something? I thought that you decided on Owen Oliver. I love both, but just wanted to make sure I am not going crazy!

We did. Dan really wants to use Robin (his mom's name) to honor her. He lost her 3 years ago to cancer, and I love the idea of keeping her memory alive. I like Owen Oliver, but I'm happy with Owen Robin. Good memory!

Lisa - I was thinking the same thing, I was afraid I was losing my mind. I think that using Robin is great. My good friend at work named her daughter Mary after her DH's mother who passed away a few years ago from Cancer, and it just makes me love the name so much more

Dan and I both agree that it's not the greatest name, but the meaning is so much more important. And how often do you really use your middle name anyway?

Oh, and we still have 10 weeks to change our minds...I won't be 100% sure of his name until we write it on the birth certificate!

Lisa- I feel like when your baby is finally born- you are going to surprise us all with a name..and we are going to be like "where did that come from???"

I wish I knew that wasn't going to happen! DH is still not 100% set on Owen, but he doesn't have any other ideas. So we'll see!

Other: yesterday the diabetes center called and was relentless about getting me back in there. They wouldn't take no for an answer, so I gave in and have that appt next Thurs. Today I told my ob and she said if I get another 5 min appt and/or get treated like I have an IQ of 2, then she'll dictate a letter that I'm not going there anymore.

Belly measurement: 39 weeks (at 33 weeks)

Other: I am 1 cm dilated and 75% effaced....doc says she will be here in two to three weeks.

Crazymom--what is a GBS test?

GBS is group b strep. They usually test at 36 weeks, but because I am expected to deliver early doc wanted to do it now. If it's positive you have to have antibiotics during delivery.

Weight Gain so far: somewhere in the vicinity of 40 LBS! But only 3 since my last appt. 3 weeks ago.
Blood Pressure: 125/79....higher than usual for me, I think
Belly measurement: 31 cm
Urine: they never test the stuff
Next appt: Feb. 19...is it normal to not be seeing doc every 2 weeks now? I think it's the damn army hospital again! I have one more 4-week appt, then I'll have one two weeks later, and then on to every week.
Tests: None this time. Got results from glucose test, all is well. They also said iron is ok...apparently I was at 11.3 and they don't treat unless it's less than 11...doesn't that seem pretty close though?

Other: The nurse practitioner I see was less of a bitch today! I think she was just happy I didn't gain too much weight this time. Every OTHER time I've seen her she's made me feel like a heifer! In other news, Feb. is PACKED with appts. Three birthing classes, a breastfeeding class, and one regular OB appt. Keeping us busy...

Other: my family has what I consider to be a lot of health concerns (my mom, has heart problems that required surgery, niece has downs, I have Diabetes on both side, I had Guillain Barre syndrome) so I am very worried that something will be wrong. Today I asked my MW about testing after the baby was born for heart defect and downs, and she told me that I should start interviewing a pediatricians but don't be a worry wart, and scary them off.

Also ladies I found a lump in my breast. The MW after examining it things it could be a swollen milk duct but is going to schedule an ultra-sound, and a reading with a specialist. So fingers crossed I really hope its nothing

Marie, how scary. Please keep us posted, I pray your MW is right and it is just a swollen milk duct.

I go to the doctor every week now. Amanda it is strange how some doctors want to see you every week and some every few weeks.

Marie - I will pray its nothing, I just did some research and swollen milk ducts are common, so I am putting my faith in thats what it is.

MillerWifey - At this point traditionally people are either at every 2 weeks or every week. I am now at every week, but I am also due March 2nd and just hit the every week point, so I am guessing most are at every 2 weeks, generally you start that at 32 weeks, at least that is what I have seen.

And as far as the Iron goes...11.3 is on the low side, they wouldn't let you give blood with that Hemoglobin level...if you think that is close, it wouldn't hurt to take an Iron pill everyday, at least I don't think it would...I mean you could ask, I clearly am not an OB, so I shouldn't be telling you what to do

Also, no appointment for me this week, start weekly next week...still expecting to be induced on Feb 24th, but the next few internal appointments will give us a better idea.

I see my doctor on Friday, so I will update then. I am anemic and have been taking iron supplements for a week now. What a difference in my energy level! I feel like a new woman.

Marie~ Let us know how the u/s goes. I had a scare a few years ago and had to have a mammo and u/s. It turns out I have a lot of tissue and am lumpy/bumpy. Good luck. My prayers are with you.
