TMI Question! Empty TMI Question!

Post  mrskizzee Wed Feb 18, 2009 4:10 pm

Ok just warning you that this might be gross...lol

On Monday I had my dr's appt and when she did the internal she told me that I would be bleeding off & on that day...and I did. Bright red blood, didn't think anything of it b/c the doc said it would happen. Yesterday I had no spotting/bleeding. This morning nothing, and I've gone a few times today and its been nothing. I just went to the bathroom and when I wiped I had discharge but it was a weird dark color?! Nothing in the toilet just on the paper. I wiped a few times and it was alot. Is this the plug? Should I be worried about the color? Embarassed

Not sure. My gut instinct would be to call your OB, just ask, can't hurt to ask. Mine always told me to expect blood, but only for a day or so...

Keep us POSTED, good luck!

Whew...okay I called my OB and the nurse I spoke with said that its the plug and the color was normal. She told me just to pay attention to any contractions that I may have (I haven't really had any though) and that since I've somewhat dilated that I'm going to start losing it. I just think its wierd that this is all happening! I don't even look like I've dropped yet!

Thanks for encouraging me to call...I wanted to but just wanted to make sure I wasn't over-reacting or anything. Very Happy

Oh don't worry you don't need to drop to go into labor, Olivia didn't drop until I was 10cm and they still had to push extra Pitocin for 2 hours (I napped) for her to drop...some babies just don't engage as quickly as others. I am 2cm, but she is still -2, so pretty high up there.

I'm also glad you called. I've lost my plug twice and it was never dark, so I wouldn't have had the slightest idea either.

Maybe this will mean things are gonna start moving along for you, although it didn't mean anything either time I lost mine..lmao.

I wish it meant things were moving along for me. I have started to lose my plug and as of Friday I am 2 cm dilated. Jake has been dropping lower at each dr visit for the last 2 weeks. I have for sure hit the miserable zone especially at night. I get up tons of times to use the bathroom now and it hurts so bad to roll over. I have also started having cramps and lower back pain through the day. So I hope these are all signs of my body getting ready to have this baby.

Dee - I think those are all good signs. Hopefully it won't be too long for you...have you set your Induction Date yet?

I'm glad it's just your plug, and nothing more serious. I keep *hoping* that I'll lose my plug, even if it doesn't mean that labor is imminent, just so I know that it'll happen eventually.

I've had some light period-like cramps all morning, but I don't think they're contractions. And I haven't been paying attention enough to time them or anything, but of course I'm hoping that they're a sign that things could get moving. But then I remember that I'm not even 35 weeks yet, so that would probably be bad anyway.

Just sittin' around, waiting for my doctor's note. My midwife is writing it now. She said that since I've had such a healthy pregnancy, that if my company requested my chart to back up my note and found out I'm just uncomfortable that I could lose my job. I'm not too worried about that because I'm quitting anyway, but that scared me. I'm just hoping they won't care enough to check up on it!

Whew, that got off topic fast! Sorry.

They better not! And if they do, oh well. I can actually see my ankles today, so even just taking this morning off and elevating them has done me some good. I think that alone is worth it!

I had two internals in one week and no blood! I also have not lost any of my plug. I am jealous of everyone. I want to see something gross, please! I think the babe is happy where he is.

I am still hoping that I go into labor on my own but if not I see my OB on Friday. We are suppose to set up a date then for next week. I am hoping for the 27th as long as his schedule will allow it. He only does 3 inductions a day.

I had contractions today, strong ones, for a few hours on and off, and they were only 3 minutes apart...and then they stopped. And TMI alert, I went to the bathroom a few times, which can be a sign as well of labor starting...
