First Meal after Delivery
So ladies, thinking ahead...what will you eat as soon as you pop your little one out?
With my DD my first meal was a Turkey Club Supermelt from Friendly's and its because we had planned to go to Friendly's the night before after our OB Appointment but she checked me into the hospital, so I was still craving it and was so disappointed I didn't get to have it the night before I had my parents run out and pick it up. DELICIOUS.
I know when I was in the hospital I had Subway 2-3 times, because I was craving Deli Meat and our hospital has a Subway...yum.
With this one, I am not sure...

DITTO to the Champagne, my husband bought me a tiny bottle and we are going to bring it to the hospital and keep it in the fridge so we can crack it open when she arrives
Re: First Meal after Delivery
Oh and just a reminder to everybody PACK SOME SNACKS. You are going to be there for a couple days. Take some snacks with you and some drinks. With number 1 we spent so much money at the vending machines, with the last 2 we brought stuff for the kids, and stuff for dh and I. We were so happy we did.
Alos I have learned the hard way (after spending $10 in the gift shop) to BRING EXTRA BATTERIES FOR YOUR CAMERA!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

No...Cali Rolls are NOT the same..but at my local sushi place they have a volcano roll- which is a crab meat and cream cheese topped with spicy shrimp...nothing is raw..and it usually keeps me from missing my spicy tuna too bad.

Our hospital has free drinks, etc. Not sure about snacks, but I agree, bring snacks.

Non-raw sushi. I love eel and avocado. I am also dying for some sweet tea. I have had no caffine since I found out I was prego and it's killing me!!!!

I would not be able to live with out caffine. I have cut back BIG TIME. My coffee is now 1/2 regulas 1/2 decaf as I mixed 1 can of each together. Can't really taste a difference either. I have to have at least 2 coke's a day one with lunch one with dinner.
Right now I am drinking a coke icee

I will have to look in the store for that today and get some. Thanks

To give me a "zing" during the day I have started drinking this stuff called Cranergy. Its cranberry juice and green tea and it is DELICIOUS! I would recommend it to everyone. And it wakes me up without making me crash a few hours later!

i had starbucks last week for the 1st time since i found out i was preggo. there was only a 1/2 shot. but i drink sweet tea like its going out of style! i guess that what happens when you live in the south.
i want in and out double double, but sadly dont live in california. so i'll take a corona with lime, spicy tuna roll with brown rice and cream cheese. or a chicago style hot dog!

Re: First Meal after Delivery
Ok, this will sound crazy but it's true. Our hospital actually has good food. It didn't used to, but when I had ds in 2004 they had changed things. I also had to stay with him in the hospital for tests when he was 4 months old, so had to eat the food then too.
They have it set up room service style. There is a pretty extensive menu, and everything I've had over those 2 stays was good. You can call in any time during the designated meal hours and if you forget, they call you and take your order. It is delivered as soon as it's ready. No more mass deliveries of soggy, cold food when the entire floor's food is ready. They don't limit you to what you can have, either. I've ordered a meal and then also a snack for later, at the same time. The desserts are made for them by a local bakery and kick ass (esp after having GD, they are extra good!)
So no brought in meals for me, I'll order room service!

Re: First Meal after Delivery
Karen - that is how one of our hospitals here is too, not the one I am delivering at, but my husband has had an overnight there and the food was FABULOUS.
Re: First Meal after Delivery
That is how our hospital is to. The food is very good. I use to work at the hospital and we would eat there everyday for 50% off. It is the same thing 6am-10am is breakfast, 11am-2pm is lunch and dinner is 5pm-8pm. You can only pick 1 main dish, but you can get as many sides as you want.
After the baby tho I need me some REAL FOOD. As good as the hospital food is that just won't cut it.
