Hi Everyone! Thank you so much for all your thoughts & prayers! I'm here at the hospital still but thankfully DH brought his laptop. I've been wanting to get on but between resting and visitors I haven't had the chance. We now have some downtime and I was telling DH that I needed to get on to talk to you ladies! lol!

The labor was slowwwwwww to say the least. My water broke at 5:30am yesterday. Wasn't really having any contractions or pain but I called my Dr. right away and she said that I had a few hours before I had to go into Labor & Delivery. So DH & I do some last minute cleaning around the house and get our bag packed. We had breakfast around 8am and still I wasn't contracting so we just hung out at the house, watched a movie then around 11:30 I called the dr. again just to check in and told them my status. She said that I needed to go in soon. I wanted to eat lunch so we went to my favorite mexican place b/c I knew once I got in there I wouldn't be able to eat. Then we stopped by Sam's Club to pick up some muffins for the nurses (our birthing class teacher suggested that idea!). While we were shopping my doctor calls my husbands cell phone and scolds him b/c we're not at the hospital yet! She was like where in the world are you?! Get to the hospital now! He told her that I wasn't in pain and that's why we were taking our time but she said that she was concerned b/c my water broke and they want to monitor the baby b/c I only have a 24 hour window that I needed to deliver the baby b/c of infections, etc. At that point it had been about 9 hours since my water broke. We check into the hospital around 2:30pm and I get checked at 3pm, still not contracting and only 3-4 cm. By 4pm they give me pitocin to try to speed things along and my darn body was being so stubborn, I wasn't dilating or contracting. Finally something starting happening and I was getting regular contractions. Once they started getting painful I got the epidural. HOURSSSSS go by and the dr. says that I might have to have a c-section if I don't progress. I REALLY didn't want that. My nurse was amazing though, I was at 5cm for forever and she told me that she was gonna get me to 10cm. She started to massage my cervix and had me do some practice pushing to get the baby's head down. At 2am I was finally at 10cm! 2:15 I started to push and I had him at 3:06 am.

Whew...sorry so long but I wanted to get this all out before I forgot any details. I'm really blessed, Ronin is healthy, I'm healing pretty good, I didn't tear (THANK YOU JESUS), and he's feeding (I'm breastfeeding) really well. He's so stinkin adorable I just want to eat him up! I just can't believe that he's here already. DH was an amazing coach and kept me focused the whole time. My sister and best friend were there also and they were an amazing team.

I'm sure I'll have more pictures to come! DH just couldn't wait to put some on our blog..lol. Thanks again for all you ladies love & support! You all have made this experience so much more enjoyable....looking forward to seeing everyone else's babies come!!!!!!

Thanks for sharing the birth story with us! It's kind of funny that your dh got scolded for not having you at the hospital. Even though labor was slow, you managed to escape with out any tears or a c/s, way to go!

It sounds like you were so calm for all those hours! If my water breaks before contractions start, it's going to be really hard for me to stay at home or go shopping. I think. I guess we'll see!

I 100% agree with that one!!!

I think it is great that you guys stayed so calm when your water broke. When mine broke, I blerted out in my office with a waiting room full of people at work "OH Shit...I think my water just broke!!". My coworkers freaked out and that made me melt down. I went to the hospital right after I got my paycheck!! Priorities! It is funny that your doctor scolded your DH...that will show him...LOL. Take it easy and rest when you can!! He is beautiful. Congrats again!

Rochelle! I love your birth story! I am so glad that you had such a devoted nurse. Sometimes you just get that one that is just awesome! Sounds like you did an awesome job and got it done! You go girl!!!!

OMG... Rochelle, I am sitting in my living room @ 3:30 am, with tears streaming down my face... the pics on your blog are absolutely beautiful and priceless. Incredibly moving, at least to this hormonal preggo girl!!

Congratulations on your beautiful baby boy, and what a cool experience you had!! I love the pre-hospital Mexican food... ha!

Great birth story!!! I loved the pics on your blog, DH looks like he did a great job and is such a proud daddy!!! Hope you can recover quickly and get home with baby Ronin--though by this point, maybe you are already home...

Rochelle Congrats on your darling boy. How neat your boy is about an hour older than mine. Looks like we both had a long labor. I am so glad you didn't have to have a c-section. I am really sore from mine and the healing time will take longer, but overall I am doing well. I love your blog pics!

Congratulations Rochelle! I just checked out your blog.. Awesome pictures of your son. I love the very first ones of him! And what a cool blog. Are you guys photographers? The pictures on there are amazing.

So glad you got to go natural! And FRIGGING SAWEET you didn't tear. I can only pray that I am as lucky as you! I can't wait to meet our son and get to snuggle him:)
