Belly wraps postpartum
Just curious if any of you are planning on wrapping/binding your belly's after you give birth or if any of you have done this before. I've read about this quite a bit and in most parts of the world it's common practice. I am seriously considering it but trying to decide what type of wrap would be the best. Of course there are super pricey ones like "Tauts by Brooke Burke but would using a cheaper version of the same thing work just as well. Any opinions???

hmm I have never heard of it. Wonder if it works. Is it to hide fat or is it to put things back in place? I walk alot after birth and my tummy firms up the best it can.

I was thinking about this, but I'm not sure. I haven't looked into cheaper versions

yes i have been thinking of doing this too!! i was looking into doing the one that book burn promotes , i forgot what its called now.. I also think this would help.. I dont think it alone would help but it would help get the muscles tight together again which would help with toning faster..

I'm with you Sarina...it HAS to go somewhere right? Although I really want try it! I'll tell you ladies, I cried the first time I looked in the mirror naked after having Ava. The thing to remember about it though is "9 months on, 9 months off." You can't expect to look like your old self in only a few weeks. The women in hollywood have trainers and nannies and chefs.

There's a lady that's willing to loan or sell hers to me that I met on a local bulletin board. It's the Belly Bandit. I think I'm going to give it a try.

The more I've read about it the more I'm leaning towards trying it. Many women use it for support as well as to help get organs back into place. I know I'll still need to eat right and exercise to actually get rid of fat but if this will help put things in their place faster then I'm willing to try it. I think I'll go with the Belly Bandit since it appears to decently priced, in comparison to the Brooke Burke "Tauts."

I can't wait to hear how it goes for you ladies. I hope its comfy, I would just worry that it would be super uncomfortable...so if its fabulous, please report ASAP so I can run out and get one, this cottage cheese stomach will need some MAJOR help.
Re: Belly wraps postpartum
I am preparing for my "belly full of jelly!" After I had my son I was out walking him in the stroller and a man asked me when i was having my baby. I could have died on the spot. I know that he was referring to my stomach. Granted he was of the male species and any woman would know that your tummy does not go flat within a week of having the baby, but now I want to make sure that no questions whether i have given birth or not. I think that a baby in a stroller would be a big clue! I am up for anything that would minimize!

Shannon - the same thing happened to me. It was my first walk after coming home from the hospital, 2 days after coming home. Brad and I went for a walk, left Olivia at home with my parents (first time without her) and one of the guys down the street asked "When are you due". I wanted to die. Seriously, he had seen me the week before and I HAD TO HAVE looked smaller than that, but I guess not to him.

I am sure to carry my baby with me everywhere I go for the first year. I want people to know I had a baby and I am not usually that fat!
