swelling anyone?
Oh wow so just like my little ticker said, this week i have been swelling like crazy! it just cam out of no where.. Well my ring finger i have nticed the last 2 weeks that its been harder to take my ring off when i get home after work, now i cant even put it on unless i force it but heck i am NOT doing that, os i have been wearing a fake wedding bad i got when i had to give my ring up for a week to get worked on last year. But my feet and anckles AND CAFFS (oh jesus after about 2 hours after i wake up i can squat cause i feel like my caffs are baloons that are gonna pop!) have been going NUTS this year. I work at a dr office so i put a stool under my desk (i work at the front desk) and have been keeping my feet up at much as i can but it doesnt seem to help much, by the time i get him my feet at 2 times they normal size and my ancles look like i have a water balloon tied around them (esp when i take my socks off and u see the indent they made).. anyone else having this GREAT side effect??

i read online that eatting bananas and drinking water helps.. I have been drinking bottle after bottle of water all day and it doesnt seem to help.. It also said to eat bananas which i normally did cause it helped with my leg cramps but i have stopped the last 2 weeks cause i havent been grocery shopping, i wonder if it will help once i start eatting them again..

Re: swelling anyone?
My first pregnancy I was really swollen and it did not go away until my son was three months old. I have not swelled this pregnancy (knock on wood). I am not sure why not! I am really superstitious and have to exercise every night or I feel like I might swell the next day. I don't know what triggers the swelling or what helps it go away. Sorry you are going through this. I know how miserable it is!

Re: swelling anyone?
ME ME ME. Its awful, and it just started this week for me. I just told my DH that I forgot to tell my OB at my appointment today, but I know she won't really care, as long as my BP is fine, she won't worry. I didn't notice swelling like this with my DD, BUT I was due in July and wore Flip-Flops the entire time, so I never saw a sock line, etc, this time around I feel like from the knees down I am just filled with extra fluid, its GROSS. Its not piting though (where you can push it it, and it will stay there), so that is encouraging, but I haven't been this swollen since the day I delievered Olivia. I blew up like a balloon after I had her, its super normal, all the extra fluid we had to keep them healthy and safe is no longer needed so it tries to vacate our bodies, at least that is what the RN told me

I am getting the swollen-nes right now. I took my rings off a couple months ago just to be on the safe side. I am wearing a ring my grandma gave me back when I was preggers with Caitlin.
My ankles or should I say canckels, face and legs are bugging me. Nothing like with Jared. I had pre-e with him so I looked the stage puff marshmellow man.

You know what I don't get. They tell you to drink lots of water to help with being swollen. Well hello what swells you in the first place is water. So your drinking more water to helping the swelling, but to me I fell worse after drinking all that water. All I do is pee, and my swelling never goes down. I just don't get.

I'm with you. I just pee and the water doesn't seem to help with the swelling! I don't know which is worse!!

I'm swelling like crazy too. I have a stool under my desk at work, but it doesn't help. Neither does all of the water. I had to take my wedding ring off about a week ago, so I wear it on a chain for now. I look like I have broken ankles by bedtime, but I'm okay by morning. Of course, over night my leg swelling goes down but my hoo-ha swelling gets CRAZY. I can barely get out of bed in the morning it hurts so bad.
Almost there...right?

Re: swelling anyone?
So I get why they tell you to drink water, because its toxins that are causing us to swell so the water should "flush" them out, but I agree, it doesn't seem to be working...
I wore Uggs yesterday to work so my feet wouldn't be uncomfy, but when I got home I had a huge dent around my calf where they hit, it was awful, huge dent.

Sarina~ Do you still have the pitting edema? Is it everyday or are some days better than others? I feel for you!

Sarina I thought about you the other night. I was on my knees giving the kids a bath. The towel was not laying straight on the floor it was kinda balled up and made this horrible looking hole in my leg. It took about 3 hours for it pop back out.

Re: swelling anyone?
Started a few weeks ago. It was so bad last week one day, I actually went to the doc to have my blood pressure checked. I was able to press on my ankle and have the indentation stay for almost 2 minutes. I'm now avoiding wearing socks too because I hate the huge indentations it leaves. Though I'm sure I look pretty stupid in flip-flops with a winter coat...hehe

You betcha! It's every single day. Even wearing my rubber crocs, sneakers, boots.. ANYTHING, and you can almost always tell exactly what kind of shoes I had on from the indents. If I'm reading and I lay my book across my lap, it makes indents. My socks.. oh lordy, makes the top of my 'cankles' look like the Pillsbury Dough Boy.. lol
Oh the joys!

Re: swelling anyone?
I got a prescription for some compression hose to help with my hoo-ha swelling, but I haven't made it to anywhere to fill it yet. I know I shouldn't be complaining without trying what my midwife suggested, but you ladies don't mind, do you?
Re: swelling anyone?
Compression hose sound pretty uncomfortable too. If you do try them, let us know how they are.

That's pretty much why I've been putting it off...If my socks are this bad, what is squeezing my whole leg going to feel like? Not to mention the pressure on my hips and stomach. Plus I'm sure I'd spend all day having to pull them up.
I know I should at least try, but it didn't sound like a good solution to me!
If anyone does, please let us know how it goes!
Re: swelling anyone?
I have no swelling at all which is weird becasue I did with Kathryn (nine years ago). I drink tons of fluids a day and the doctor says that is why I am not swelling. I can still wear my rings and I am just waiting for the day that I can't
