Another freecycle score
I know it will be a while before our LO can play on this but I figure my nephews can play on it when they come over. It will work while he is little and then pass it on once he outgrows it.

WOW!!! That's awesome! I guess I just live in the wrong place...there's mostly just junk on our board.
Re: Another freecycle score
That is GREAT!!! I also live around too many small towns to have any cool stuff. Those things are expensive even used at a 2nd hand store. Great find!!!!

Re: Another freecycle score
I am AMAZED at the stuff people put on there...a bag of hangers? Really? The randomness is comical, and the fact that people snatch those things up. I wouldn't walk down the street for a bag of hangers (of course I have them coming out my ears), let alone drive across town...
Re: Another freecycle score
Can someone please tell me what it is, I am dying to know and of course while at work I can't see pictures
Re: Another freecycle score
LTGwifey- It is one of those out side play things like from Little Tykes, it has two area to climb in and a tunnel connecting the two for the kids to climb through and a slide on one end.

Re: Another freecycle score
hahaha Leigh....you will laugh at me but I did get baby hangers off of freecycle. The hard plastic kind I got a trash bag full of them.
I got a Little Tykes outside playground. It has a slide, a tunnel, a little playhouse and area to climb.

HAHAHHAAH, I just laughed outloud - Dee you crack me up. That is a GREAT find. I am so hoping to find a little Kitchen for Olivia, or something like that. Someone posted a pair of tights...and I thought to myself....a pair of tights?
Re: Another freecycle score
Some of the postings are weird and trust me I draw the line at certain things. I have seen people post underwear, bras, and I have seen a lot of just broken or stained up junk. Stuff that needs to just go to the landfill....its gross. I think some people use freecycle as a trash can to try to get rid of stuff.
rylan&babysmommy, I am glad you are finding some cool stuff! Like I said it is a great way to get rid of stuff you no longer want.

Re: Another freecycle score
Okay, so I just checked...I had 313 unread e-mails...and the first one was an EMPTY PLASTIC PRETZEL JAR? DUDE, seriously?
Re: Another freecycle score
WOW! I am just amazed at your awesome finds. I have joined three different Freecycles. My county group and then two surrounding towns. And they are all junk posts. Hopefully something of great score will come up soon.
Lucky you for having awesome finds!!

Re: Another freecycle score
Connor just saw the picture and invited himself over to play on it!
You have really gotten some great things! Our's used to be much better, but has had some crap posted lately. Strangest one last month was right after the holidays, someone posted empty tubes from wrapping paper because she didn't want to recycle them.
Maybe when the weather gets warmer out and people start spring cleaning, the offers will get better.

Re: Another freecycle score
Tell Connor he is welcomed to come play anytime! We have been very lucky with our finds!
I get irritated when people post stupid things like that because they are too lazy to go recycle them or just throw it away. I didn't think about the spring cleaning.....we should be able to find some good stuff then.

Re: Another freecycle score
You will be surprised. There have been plenty of times where I was going to toss something, and pur chance I decided to post it on freecycle, just to see if someone would want it.
You'd be surprised...sometime people need odd random things for kids projects or what not.
I gave away a ton of empty baby food jars, hangers, pea gravel, broken items, and other odds and ends...the motto of the group is "One man's trash is another man's treasure." and it is so true...I have never posted anything that did not get at least 5 replies!
Also if you ladies are looking for specific items, you can post a "wanted" ad. That's how I got a lot of things that I was looking for.
But I do agree though, there have been times where I would pick something up, and yes...it should have been trashed...instead of being posted on freecycle.
I remember one time someone gave away a baby seat for a bike. It was soo shitty, then the owner said it has gone through 7 kids. What??? I have a baby! Why would u give away something whose safety is "questionable' to someone who is going to use that very item for their child? I took it and immediately took it to the dumpster. If I feel something is unsafe, filthy or whatever...it is better off at the dump.

Re: Another freecycle score
I am sure you ladies are sick of seeing my freecycle finds but I had to share. A lady posted a ton of baby stuff and I responded and didn't get it. Well last night she emailed me and said pick up fell through and I was 2nd on the list. I went this morning and got a stroller, an older high chair (we may keep it for when we go camping), nojo sling, snugli, nursing cover, safety first door knob covers, baby wipe warmer, sleep positioner, brand new diaper cloths, play mat....plus there is a box of girl stuff that will be passing onto someone else. The thing that got me was that this lady is a few months pregnant with her 2nd child and I can't believe she isn't keeping this stuff. She said she was nesting and wanted to get rid of all this stuff and start over.
