I finally did it.....

Today, I finally quit smoking. I know I know....I should have quit a LONG time ago. But now is better than never....I still have 6 months to be healthy and give my baby a better chance. Originally I cut down from a pack a day to about 6 or 7 a day. But recently, I've been smoking more. The whole cutting down thing wasn't working for me. So, I smoked my last ciggarette at 7:30 last night. My lungs are burning, and I feel like punching people in the face right now from the withdraw. Drinking water and taking deep breaths seem to be helping....but it's HARD. Just wanted to share....looking for some encouragment

that is awesome, i am still struggling w/ that as well, i smoke about 4 cigarettes a day. you should be very proud of yourself!

My boss chews a lot of gum... she has a gallon size baggie with an assortment of flavors... it seems to help her.

Congratulations! Its going to be hard for a few weeks.. but you can do it. I quit 9yrs ago when i found out i was pg with my son in 99. I would typically restart after having a baby.. but stuck to my guns and stayed butt free!

Congrats! I quit last March. My advice is to take it day by day. When you feel the urge to light up think of your little one.

Congrats. That is how I quit smoking almost 7 years ago; I got pregnant. It doesn't work for everyone, especially men. LOL I have been smoke free ever since! You can do it!

congrats! I was thankfully able to quit the second I found out but DH just recently quit. I know it was and still is tough on him but one thing he does is carry mints with him all the time. as silly as this sounds, he like the breathmints with the holes in the center and he breaths through those sometimes like he's inhaling. well, hope that was helpful. good luck! you can do it!

I'm on day 4!!! go me....go me! Sleeping SUCKS!! I toss and turn all night, but I feel SO much better already. It's so worth it!
