NESTING!!! Empty NESTING!!!

Post  mini*van*mama Mon Jan 12, 2009 12:27 pm

I am slowly getting into the stage.

I had taped Lipstick Jungle friday night and had got the chance last night to sit down and watch it. The whole time I was just waiting for it to get over so I could go clean my bathroom. WTH???? I cleaned the sink, toliet, and moved things around. (The tub gets cleaned at least every other night do to bath's so that was not an issue.)

Then I was woke up at 5:30 this morning by Dylan. He had knocked his sheets off and I got up to cover him up and could not fall back asleep. So I got up and made dh breakfast pancakes, eggs and bacon. Then he left and I tried to go back to sleep but no. So I made the kids oatmeal. The homemade stuff.

Then I took Jared to school and came back to switch out and go through all his clothes since he has gone through a growth spurt. I am so tired now I am counting down the hours till nap time. 2 hours to go!!!!!!

I'm with you on the nesting thing. I couldn't sleep last night and just wanted to clean the house, but didn't want to wake anyone. SO... today I have been busy cleaning house and washing all the clothes and putting away clothes that don't fit anymore. I just hope my tireness doesn't hit me about the time I need to be busy making dinner... LOL!! I guess one upside to having another boys is... the clothes that the older two grow out of before getting to wear it much will be passed down to Caleb and be in good shape still. cheers

I am doing laundry to, but that is nothing new. I do that every single day of my life No

I am hoping I can past down some of the things to Brayden. Jared's clothes will or should work since they have 1 month between there birth months, but Dylan has about 6 months. So I amsure he will be getting new things to fit the season.

hey i have a question, how important is it to get that special Dreft Laundry Detergent for the baby? Are there other brands that are cheaper than can be used? Why do you have to use it in the first place, isnt tide jsut as good?

I got the All Free and Clear and the Arm and Hammer Free and clear. You are supposed to get a mild detergent because baby's skin isnt used to all the chemicals that adults use...but dreft has some fragrance- so I use the free and clear. I use it for myself too- because I am allergic to the regular detergent. Dreft is way more expensive.

With both my boys I didn't use anything different from tide. If you can get a couple samples from places then they would be a good idea. If I can get some samples then I wash the new clothes in it and then from then on out I used tide or whatever.

I'll be using either the All or Arm & Hammer free and clear. I personally have issues with Tide and my skin so I won't even try that on Matthew. I won't be paying $10 for Dreft..no way, no how!!

I have never ever used anything different on babies clothes. I do wash them seperate for the first couple months and that is it. It is pretty much a waste of money to me anyway. Think about it. The hospital does not use special detergent when they wash the blankets and the white shirts. The white shirts get bleached to get spit up stains out of them and they are rough as can be. As long as you use a good softner then all should be fine. Oh and this stuff is great to get baby formula/poo/baby food out.

You can order it online or get it at Walmart. The big jug is $4.97 well it was the last time I bought it.

Save me Ive been nesting for over 2 months.....I clean the bathroom atleat twice a day and have been vacuuming 2 times every other day. Ive managed to squeeze in big jobs to like clean out the closets, move Evan into his own room, scrub the bathroom floor with a tooth brush and wash the couch cover. Next up is clean out the van( vacuuming the entire inside, wipe down all the hard surfaces, take out the trash and put the back seats back in),Take down the last of the christmas stuff, rearrange our bedroom, clean the house top to bottom for the baby shower and any other insane idea my maternal self comes up with. I wont be suprised if I end up on the roof with a mop. cyclops

I think target has a generic brand of it but Ive never used it. Like everyone else I never changed the laundry soap,I just use less for the infant clothes.

We got a big bottle of Dreft for Christmas - so I will be using that. After that's gone I'll also get All Pure & Free like some of the previous posts have mentioned. We both have extremely sensitive skin, so I'm sure Aniras will as well. But the All is MUCH cheaper than the Dreft, so hopefully it works well Smile

With the amount of times you will have to do their laundry, Dreft isnt that bad. It smells so yummy too! We use it for the first year then after that their little clothes get mixed in with ours. We use Arm & Hammer on most occasions.

And for all you nesting ladies... come on down! Your the next contestant to clean my house! Smile

I called my mom last week and asked her to come to my house after dh goes back to work. He is taking a week off after she is born. Then after that I want my mom here for help. She cant resist cleaning my house! muhaahhaaa! So i was nicely asking her to come and she agreed. Then i said with a quick.. "Good! now my house will stay clean and i dont have to ask kids to do this and that.. You can!" lol So i get to sit in bed and enjoy my baby for 2 weeks.. let me family clean and cook all the meals. Smile Oh happy days! queen

I have been nesting for a while. I feel like I work all day long and plan to go home and relax but end up going home and cleaning. You would think that eventually I would get it all done but that hasn't happened.
