Arrogance at work
Let me just say I am a little annoyed. I live in Utah, which as you know is republican and who i vote for is my own decision. Well my boss doesnt think so! He got so angry when I mentioned that I might not vote Mccain that his face went red! Honestly, it is not his business who i vote for and it shouldnt matter. Anyways I am EXTREMELY irritated with the people I work for right now. How can they be so arrogant? I love living in Utah, but this is the main reason I wish I could move out of state. Its a little bubble where they all think they are right and no one can be any other way than the way that they are. Ug .....

That sucks, sorry to hear ur boss is so narrow minded!! My aunt is the same way... we do not discuss politics anymore. What also bothers me is when people spout out "facts" that they never checked and consider them true and send out ignorant emails!!!
U should not be looked at differently by ur boss b/c of who u choose to vote for... Maybe u shouldn't have said anything, but that doesn't make it better!

Unfortunately, it goes the other way, too. Damned if you do, damned if you don't.

Re: Arrogance at work
I work in a very conservative profession (I'm an actuary) so I pretty much have to keep my opinions to myself. I'm definitely ready for the election to be over with so I don't have to hear some of my ignorant coworkers spewing proven false information anymore. I'm all for people having differing opinions - that's why we vote right? - but I am really tired of this whole process! What matters it that we all exercise our right to vote, even if that means voting for the wrong side!

That sucks Becky! I'm sorry that your boss is being a butt. I agree, who you vote for is your decision! I do get annoyed when BOTH sides get all high & mighty about their chosen candidates. I have my reasons for who I'm voting for and so do others. I do like asking why people are voting who they are voting for but I don't start riots when I don't agree them. I voted for McCain but I still like you
Re: Arrogance at work
The crazy thing is i didnt say who I was voting for, I was just being a smart ass, as usual, lol I am gonna keep my opinions to myself though! BTW I still havent decided who I am voting for! I know I know I only have a few hours to decide. Neither one has really persuaded me etiher way!

So Becky,
How was work today?
I have convinced everyone I work with that I am Libertarian and that I voted for Ron Paul. Therefore I don't hear it from anybody.
Just curious how your boss' state of mind was today.

Yikes - I'm sorry to hear that. I live in CA and if a boss did that he would be at risk of breaking the law.

the sad thing is we are an HR company lol he should lose his position, but he is the owner so that will never happen lol. Oh well Obama won, what is he gonna do now? Actually at work, he didnt say a word about Obama being president and still hasnt. He is probably in denial. But I think people just need to realize that no matter who we chose as President someone will always be unhappy. And every president has done good and bad for our country. So whatever lol it is waht it is

That's funny that your boss was silent. I agree, everyone will never be happy with our president, no matter who he (or she) is.
