Hospital Pictures
I was going to pay for hospital pictures.. just to not pass them out to anyone..but more for keepsakes. But i couldnt see spending the $60 on pictures that i could do myself and things are very tight right now. So I did them myself. What do ya think? As people get their hospital pictures back, dont forget to share them!
Re: Hospital Pictures
I think its great!! I never have been able to buy those hospital pics. Its just a hard time with money when preparing for a baby. Do it yourself pics are great.

Re: Hospital Pictures
She's beautiful April! We didn't even have them take pictures. My DH wanted to them himself also. Hopefully we'll get them done this week.
Re: Hospital Pictures
Great job on the pictures. I was a sucker and bought the hospital pictures. I will post them when I get them. My DH is great at taking pics I should have just let him do it.

Re: Hospital Pictures
we had them take the pictures, but the pictures we have taken at home have been better. We had them take it more so that out of town family could see her. You have to go to the hospital's website to find them.

Re: Hospital Pictures
Here, the pictures are taken no matter what for the hospital website, but it's up to you if you want to order them or not. I dont know if I will be or not, especially with the prices I've heard. We plan on getting her first set of Professional pictures done around 10 days or 2 weeks, and that's *most likely* what will be on her announcements. We'll have to see though.
April, you did a great job on Sequoia's picture!! I dont think you need to do anything to it, she looks perfect

Re: Hospital Pictures
We'll probably get a small package, just to have them... also the company that does ours, usually offers u a deal if u don't purchase in the hospital and wait, then they'll start calling u or sending u things to orders smaller packages, cause if u don't buy them in the hospital they usually lose ur business. they hold on to them for a year i think. then theyre gone. so, i think Mason was like 6-9 months before i got his hosp. pics!!! they turned out ok, i didn't do announcements, this time i think i will. but probably at walmart or target or something like that, where i can design it myself, and have a couple pics on there.
April, i think that pic is adorable!!!! looks perfect

Re: Hospital Pictures
I think your photo looks great, but if you REALLY wanted to tweak it, and I know you're a PS lover, I'd suggest dropping the levels a bit on the lower half of the photo using a gradient mask. Because of where the lightsource/flash was, the bottom seems a little brighter. Perhaps increasing the contrast there so that she doesn't blend into the background as much at the bottom? Again, I think you did a great job as is

Jeni... Do you want to try to tweek it for me? I do think it looks nice.. but i figured i have time to play with it a bit before i send it out. My kids want a wallet to show their friends. That would be cool!
Thanks everyone for the comments.
Re: Hospital Pictures
I'd be happy to! Want to email me the layered PS file or the jpeg without the type so I don't mess the type up with the changes? My email is jenihoutz AT gmail DOT com
(BEFORE)
Here's one with the saturation and levels bumped up just to show you what I meant (I did this really quick and if you think her skin is too dark, I can easily lighten it): (AFTER)

Re: Hospital Pictures
Thanks, it was my pleasure! I had a great subject to work with! I'll have to email once I get home tonight. Picasa downsized it when I uploaded it this am from home...
Re: Hospital Pictures
Thats awesome! I usually have the pixels high like in the 3000x2000 range so they blow up nice. But my photoshop can do all that too. That would be great if you can send it to me with and without the text, but if you only saved it with, no worries.. if you have the photoshop file that would be fine too, i can flatten the layers and go from there..im sure if i played with it enough i could have gotten the way i wanted.. but its better too to have a second set of eyes to give it a go!
Thanks again!!!!
Thanks again!!!!
Re: Hospital Pictures
April,
I absolutely can give it to you at a higher resolution without the text if you send me your original without the text on it!!! I just altered the one you posted here, but can easily make the changes to your original if you email it to me!
