update on Madison ***UPDATE***

I didnt know how many of you ladies get on her website so I thought Id post this here also.

I just received a call from Dr. and they are concerned about Madison"s weight loss as she is now at 3# 4.9oz. So they checked her blood count and it's low. They are giving her a blood transfusion to bring red cells up. And they will increase her calories add to her breastmilk from 27 to 30 calorie protien fortifier. The blood transfusion with take 4-5 hours and she will be monitored closely during it. They said alot of the time a baby gets transfusion, by uping the cells can actually help them need less oxygen intake. So hoping all goes well with this. Im sure everything will be fine but continued prayers would be great. Thank you all

Madison did very good with the transfusion. We went up to see her yesterday and we both got to hold her two times. What a treat. She is looking older and a little bigger. We had a great visit. She is 3# 8oz as of lastnight.

Andrea, I just finished watching the videos. She looks awesome! What a difference a little outfit makes. Thats awesome that everything worked out. You look so proud when holding her I love reading your updates. Thanks!!!

Andrea--so beautiful!! You can see she does look a little older! Is she gaining any length? I'm glad the transfusion went well. She's a sweetie!!!

Thanks ladies, Im so proud of her. I need to ask about her length, I dont think they check that too often.

Yesterday she hit the 4 pound mark and this morning is 4# 2 oz. She is really growing now. They took her down to 1/4 L oxygen yesterday and is doing very well with that. She had her 1st tub bath this morning and nurse said she seemed to enjoy it.

awee Andrea that is wonderful! I cant believe how much she has gained in such a few short days! Its too bad you couldnt leave them a portable camera for stuff like the first bath so you can see too later on. Glad she enjoyed it She is on her way!!!
