Baby Movement Empty Baby Movement

Post  mini*van*mama Sat Jan 10, 2009 6:57 pm

So I posted there other day that the baby made me fill like a trampoline bouncing non-stop. Well after that day he has slowed down. It really was freaking me out. I would lay down and nothing. Usually with in 30 seconds of laying down he is kicking me hard.

So getting a little freaked I made myself a big breakfast. Cheese eggs and toast with butter and 2 big glasses of OJ. I gave him some time and laid down to do kick counts. I was down for about 20 minutes and I got my 10 kicks. So I am feeling better. He has been kicking a lot more today.

I know that the further along you are the kicks tend to slow down for running out of room. I still have 10 weeks left so he sould not be running out of room yet. I know he is measuring bigger(4 weeks ahead) so I am hoping that has something to do with it.

Anybody else noticing a decrease in kick's????

I varies day to day for me. I am supposed to do kick counts now, but I am really forgetful about it. I am making sure that I feel him kick around for a while and that is it. I don't even write anything down. If I don't feel him for a while I will call in. I have such a mover that I will for sure notice if he doesn't move for a long time. My baby tends to go crazy for a couple of days and then have a calm day.

My ob hasn't mentioned the kick counts to me. His movement varies. Some days he is more active than others. If he doesn't move much for me I get out my doppler just to be sure he is ok. I love hearing his heartbeat!!

I think that they want 10 kicks in an hour. If I feel a couple good kicks or a roll then I figure that we are all good to go!

I don't feel a ton of kicks, but I feel a ton of rolling and moving around. Last night her head was rolling from side to side across my belly, my DH was amazed, my whole stomach was contorting...

My OB tells me 10 kicks within 2 hours...I lay down to do mine and usually have 10 kicks within 5-10 minutes! Boy won't give me a break! But it is pretty reassuring...

I too had a freak out day!! After hearing the stories on here about the moms who lost their babies so close to the end, now I'm paranoid if I don't feel as much movement. The other night I had nightmares about it and then couldn't sleep thinking that I hadn't felt much movement that day. Yesterday was better, and already this morning I've felt some movement--I don't think I feel something every hour, especially if I'm up moving around. I think every 2 hrs. is more realistic for my baby, he/she seems to wake up in these intervals lately. I think as long as we feel some sort of movement throughout the day, it's good.

I am the same way... I get nervous during quiet periods. I had stopped regularly listening to his heart beat for a couple months, but now I listen about once every day when I don't feel him moving. I agree that thoughts of losing him now are so heartbreaking, I can't bear it. My heart goes out to the women who have experienced these losses... I cry to think about it.

At my last doc appt., I mentioned that he has quiet periods and I get nervous, so the doc hooked me up to the monitor in their office and tracked his heartrate, any contractions (none) and I had a clicker to push when I felt him move. Thankfully, he was fine... the nurse said the babies usually get really active as soon as you check on them like that. Little buggers! :-)

Peanut moves quite a bit when I put headphones on my belly with jazz music. So cute.

Hang in there, ladies, and think positive thoughts. My doc said to call if I don't feel 5 separate movement episodes in an hour (rapid kicks in succession count as one episode). When I do the counts, I usually get to 5 episodes within 10 minutes. But I won't hesitate to call them if he ever doesn't pass that test.

After 3 m/c's I am a constant worrier too. I have posted about this on another board and like here the consensus is movement varies from day to day.

I just wanted to add for those with an anterior placenta like me..you can't really do kick counts. Especially if the baby is facing toward your back and the legs are kicking that way. You wont really feel it. I have noticed most days, if ever, I dont feel 5 kicks within in hour.

oh yes, hadn't thought about the anterior placenta challenge. can you get a check on heartrate with doppler despite anterior placenta?

Well I think he just took a couple days off as he has been super bust the last couple days.

Plus I think he has moved because My beely is not as big or as hard as it has been. Plus he now kicking on my right side and before it was my left side.

I am the same had a few nightmares after reading about the lady who lost her baby at 29 weeks. This is all so new so I can't help but worry but as long as i feel some movement I am all good. I never prayed so much in my life as I do now, I pray for Kayla each day.

GSDmommy Kayla also starts dance when she here bass in any music LOL.

Yes you can it just takes longer. I bought a doppler and I couldn't hear a heart beat until almost 13 weeks when everyone was else picking it up about 10 weeks. It just sucks because you don't feel as much movement. No one expect my husband has felt the baby move, and I have only seen my stomach move once from the outside.

I am glad Im not the only one freaking out! SOme days he is just quieter and calmer then others and I freak out and grab my doppler. But I think its the way he is positioned. Some days he is backwards and I think he is kicking me inside where I cant really feel it. But I LOVE feeling him moving and being able to feel his little butt and back. Still there are days when i barely feel him. But then the next day he is at it again!!
