KBOOGIE - any update?

Okay, I just got back to work.

So earlier this week I was told that I have a rare antibody at at some point could start attacking the baby. Today they started weekly/biweekly ultrasounds to keep track of how she is growing and looking for signs that she is in distress (if it looks like she is in distress at anytime- it would be an immediate C-section). I am happy to say she is growing perfectly- she is in the 58 percentile...which is right on target..and she weighs 3lbs 12 oz. and her lungs and heart are in great shape. Obviously nobody wants to me have her right now- but i was told that if I did- she would probably have to be in the NICU for 4-5 days...and that is only going to be better odds the longer I go. They dont know really much about this antibody, and I have been told its a weird thing because you never know if antibodies are going to attack or not attack, and all they can do is monitor her closely. I have to see my midwife on Tuesday- but I am afraid with the Gestastional Diabetes and now this antibody- I will have to be transfered to the care of a high-risk OBGYN...which sucks because I really like my midwife, but I also want her to have the best care possible- so I will deal. DH will be scanning the new ultrasound photos tonite (the best of which are the 3D ones) so I think you all will like seeing them..and I will post them tomorrow. The funny part is that during the ultrasound she kept putting her hand up to her forehead like a real drama queen...and all of this started to make sense.

Those ultrasound photos sound cute. Well I'm really glad to hear they sound like they're on top of everything and monitoring closely. I am also to hear all went well with the ultrasound and her growth. Can't wait to see the photos!

For now that is GREAT news, because right now you have no reason to believe it will start attacking and with them keeping a close eye on her you will know if she needs to get out and join you on the outside, so for now you just get to focus on all the extra sneak peeks at her.
