Baby Monitors? Empty Baby Monitors?

Post  SarinasLilAddition Thu Nov 06, 2008 9:15 pm

Hi ladies Smile

We've started looking at baby monitors, and I'm wondering on any suggestions? I really like the idea of the video monitors - but only the ones with the video screen on the handheld part, so it's portable.. but a lot of the reviews I'm reading are saying they are no good...

Just wondering if any of you have had good or bad experiences with any monitors you could suggest or NOT recommend..lol.. I'm not set that we HAVE to have the video one, just was appealing to me.. So any recommendations on any monitors you loved or hated would be great!

Thanks so much I love you

So we have the Fisher Price Lights and Sound monitors for our DD, they work great, nothing special, weren't super expensive, but they have done the trick, I love that it has two hand helds, we leave one plugged in downstairs and one plugged in by our bed, we never move them, its great.

For this one we bought the Saftey First 3 way, it has 3 bases, so we can leave one in her room, one in Olivia's room and one downstairs, so we can monitor all three rooms with one handheld, which will be nice, but I will miss the extra handheld and will be annoyed that I will have to take it upstairs to bed instead of already having one there, but I wasn't sure how two monitors would interfere with each other, so we are going to give this one a try.

We looked at the video monitors as well, as our friends made some great points about why they are so great: newborns move around a lot and my daughter cries in her sleep all the time, it would be helpful to be able to watch her, without having to go in and check on her. But same thing happened to us, the only good reviews are on the ones that are super duper expensive $200+, so we didn't think it was worth it.

We registered for the iMonitor Video Vibe Digital Monitor by Graco. My sister-in-law has it and loves it because its lightweight and portable..although her nextdoor neighbor has the Summer Infant Day and Night Handheld Color Video Monitor- and she says the picture is actually clearer on the Summer Infant..but the monitor is bulkier.

They suck so bad. Only one moniter still works and that is only half the time.

The video moniters were not around that I remember with my first. So i got through him fine so I will skip that.

I think I am going to get these this time. Even before the baby because I need new ones now.
