Car seat installation question- Subaru Forester
I have a 2000 subaru forester and we are trying to install a Peg Perego Primo Viaggio 30/30 in the center position in the back seat. The first problem is that there is no LATCH system and we are using the lap belt. The second problem is that even on level ground, the shape of the backseat does not let the car seat rest flush against the back of the back seat while maintaining the car seat level ball in the green. We would basically have to raise the front of the car seat like 3 in. to use the crank and level installed on the car seat.
My 1st question is: do they make a pad or something that goes under the car seat base that will lift it enough to allow the car seat to be leveled properly and rest flush against the back of the seat?
My 2nd question is: has anyone out there successfully installed a car seat in a subaru forester? I searched online and many people seem to have problems.
I have an appt to have the car seat installed/ inspected by our local fire dept., but I want to have the pad if I need it. Any guidance is much appreciated! Thanks so much!

When they put it in they will tell you what to buy to make it work, and you can go back and they will do it all for you. My DH uncle works at fire Dept around KC and he said you could use a noodle ( like cut a swimming noodle to fit) We got a "noodle" like thing at BRU.
I went to the site and looked it up for you. It was a PAIN to find it but... here you go.

The installer will put a swimming noodle under it to make it level and at the right angle. I would just totally let the installer do it. You and dh watching of course. She will walk you through it. So if you have to remove it for some reason you might be able to put it back in yourself.
Very proud of you for making an apt to have it installed!!!! IMO everyone should
