Valentines Day
Anyone have plans to have a nice, romantic dinner with dh and no dc?
Me and dh are making reservatons to eat out and for the 1st time not taking any dc. Last year we took our ,then 1year old, But this time I said we need to do it alone as soon we will have 2 babies. Better do what we can alone cuz it will be a long time before we have that again.lol

I think that Valentines is on a Saturday this year. We never go out alone. I think that I will set up a sitter for that night. It will be the last time that we can get out before I am on lock down for a while.

Re: Valentines Day
Is Valentines Day coming up already?!! sheesh...I honestly haven't even given it a thought. We actually have birthing classes that morning...how romantic...haha!
Re: Valentines Day
Andrea, I think you two should really try to get out if you can! have the teens babysit and head out for a nice romantic night out! We just went out.. but who knows.. we might do it again cause we really enjoyed it!
Re: Valentines Day
We likely won't go out that night, since the restaurants around here are NUTS, but we will go out at some point before this little one arrives...
Re: Valentines Day
We won't be going out that night. Dh's bday is Feb 26, so we'll go out then instead. It's hard to get my parents to watch all of the kids, my 4 yo ds and 6 yo dd are hellions together. Pick & choose, we go with a bday dinner over V-day. That will most likely be our last time out together with no kids for quite a while.

Re: Valentines Day
I'm not really sure what we are going to do... Since we live in a VERY small town we have to drive at least 30 minutes to go out to eat at a nice place. So we talked about just getting the stuff to have a nice dinner at home. Our boys will be here that night, because we won't have anyone to watch them. My mother and I aren't speaking... she just texts me and won't call (OR answer when I call)!! AND she is the "grown up" one!?!?! LOL!! ANYHOW, my dad and stepmom are going to be in Cali. because my brother is being deployed and they want to see him before he leave!!! We may be able to go out just the two of us the next weekend because the 23rd is our wedding anv.

Lacie, sounds like the town we live in. We have to travel 40 minutes for any stores or resturaunts. Our town is 2000 people and 2 homecooking cafe's, 2 gas stations, 2 small hometown grocery stores. We always goto Keokuk, Iowa for everything as they have variety in all things.

Re: Valentines Day
WOW, my town MAY be bigger then yours then... LOL!! We have two stores (that are WAY over priced) and we have THREE gas stations!!! Pizza Hut, Sonic and a couple little places to eat that aren't that great. I LOVE living in a small town for a couple reasons but when it cames to needing something it will cost you OR you will learn to go without. LOL!! And the fact that EVERYONE knows you and your life story.... that part drives me nuts. BUT the school here is great and doesn't have to many kids so the teachers can help each student. The L&D is over a hour away, so that has me alittle scared, but I don't seems to have my kids fast so I am sure we will have enough time. But I HATE my DH driving in a big city, so I may be n labor AND driving!!! He doesn't like driving in a big city either, but I am sure he would suck it up and drive me there.

Yeah I like the small schools to. Since we live in the country our kids goto a school for K-8 grade in a little town of about 40 people. The classes are combined like.. Kindergartin has 1 kid this year. 1st-2nd together, 3rd-4th together, 5th-6th, and 7th-8th together. There is 18 kids in the school this year total. Then for high school the kids go to Kahoka where there is probally 150 kids total. So our small school doesnt have any extra cirricular classes or sports, which I hate. But atleast the high school has it all.

Wow, honestly, I haven't even thought about Valentine's Day. I forgot it's only a couple weeks away. We'll probably order in, or maybe even go out, depending on my mood & how I'm feeling..hehe.

Re: Valentines Day
Wow...I'm really behind on these posts. Of course, I don't have any kids...so it's not as big of a deal to get out on Valentine's Day. BUT I had to share! I came home yesterday and DH was using the computer looking at the Marriott's website and making reservations for us to stay at the Marriott Riverfront in Savannah on Valentine's Day! Gotta love him. He paid extra so we could get a "room with a view" and he also made reservations for us to eat out somewhere....though he won't tell me where. The only frustrating part is that the "rooms with views" are only booked on Valentine's Day if you purchase their "romance package" which includes dinner at the hotel. So, apparently, we have reservations for TWO dinners on Valentine's Day. What a waste!

Awe.... how sweet!! It;s great that he works hard on doing something romantic. My dh will spend a couple hours trying to pick the perfect gift and card. He knows Im kinda picky and want it from the heart, not just run out a get something, so it takes him twice as long. enjoy your night out.

Re: Valentines Day
That is so sweet of your husband to plan a weekend away. I have to vent, now that my blood is boiling about it...three years ago I planned the whole Valentines Day weekend, we went to Raleigh, DH was living there when we met, we had reservations at the restaurant where we had our first date, I got him a Tag watch, his friends drove up from Wilmington to surprise him and I planned EVERYTHING. So I told him "next year is on you pal", I had to even say it, he didn't offer it up, and what did he do? At the very last minute he booked a hotel here in Richmond, granted, it was The Jefferson (so a very nice hotel), but I was furious. I am not going to spend $35 to board my dog to spend $300 a night to stay in our own city, I was so upset that he didn't put more thought into it so I made him cancel and we just went to brunch there the next morning. Last year since we had Olivia he shopped for a delicious dinner and made it at home, it was very sweet and I got a great present
All I have ever wanted was for my DH to plan a weekend away, plan SOMETHING, plan ANYTHING, I am always the planner and that drives me BONKERS. I love to travel, I love to surprise him. I have done it so many times and he knows how much I love it and NEVER does it, it drives me crazy.
I asked him today "What do you want to do for Valentines Day", he said "I have been thinking about that" - YEAH RIGHT...I just laughed. At this point I don't care so much, I am guessing if we wanted to go out my parents would watch Olivia for us and it likely will be our last night out before Avery arrives since we will be induced on the 24th, but I hate the thought of spending a lot of money on a dinner, only being able to eat half of it and getting awful heartburn Romantic huh? Honey, lets go make some sweet love, but first I need about 74 TUMS and I would rather OD on Pepcid...LOL.

Re: Valentines Day
LGTWifey - I planned a getaway weekend in Richmond one year for my DH's birthday and we stayed at the Jefferson! What a beautiful hotel. And his birthday is in December so it was decorated for Christmas. I loved the restuarant in there...we had an AWESOME breakfast!! We also took advantage of the "complimentary transportation to downtown" We're unfamiliar w/Richmond so they pretty much drove us around everywhere...we felt so fancy...haha!
