FREAKING OUT........vent

I freaking out really bad. We are super broke, and there is nothing I can do about it right now. DH's check 2 weeks ago was about $600 less than his normal check. Do to his place of work being closed for christmas break. So bills that were due on that check had to be held off till this check. Then this check was short about $300 due to his work being closed New Years Eve and day.

So our car insurance is due today. We had to push off from last check, so we have a double payment due and not enough money in our checking account. So I am going to have not pay it and push it of again until we get the if you don't pay by ..... your insurance will be canceled letter.

Not to mention I have no car seat yet at all. Which is really freaking me out. I know that I don't go back for my ultra sound till next Tuesday and till my due date is 8.5 weeks and even my induction week is still 6.5 weeks away. I am just getting freaked out. Oh and I still have to pay the rest of my Dr payment which I still owe like $400 something on.

I was really hoping to get our tax refund done and back in time to get everything and pay my bill, but I don't think that is going to happen.

I know this won't help with the bills....but breathe...get away from the computer, curl up in a chair with a book or with the TV and stop that brain from going over it all one thousand times. I do that to myself all the time and it just stresses me out, and of course like everyone is going to tell you, you don't need that.

Have you checked with any friends, do they have a car seat you could borrow in the short-term until you can get everything under control. And while I know this isn't an ideal situation, can you apply for a 0% Credit Card and pay the Doc bill with that? And even your Car Insurance? And then once that is paid off, just close the card?

It will all work out, things seem to work out for good people and you are for sure at the top of that list...

This is probably super random, but do you have old books or DVDs that you could part with? DH and I started selling old college text books through amazon.com, and we've made almost $700 since Christmas already! People are more than happy to buy used books and movies, and amazon gives you a shipping credit. You do have to share the money with amazon for the account (like 15 or 20%), but it's an idea. I'm not sure if you can sell other used items that way, but I bet you can.

Ebay and craigslist are other options if you have things you aren't going to use anymore. Unfortunately, it's no guarantee, and you won't get paid immediately, but it's an option.

Breath! im in the same situation as you...our mortage went up over 1,000 a month and we used to split the payment in half and now to do that with the new amount is what we were doing in a month...so i am stressing out...i have 6 weeks from friday before section and we still dont have a lot either and we wont be having a shower so it really is falling on us to get it...BREATH! Things will fall into place you have to believe it! When i am major stressing i end up having contractions so thats not good...so im getting stressing anyone preggers this can happen to...stay calm for that little bean of yours!!

I am sorry your going through so much. I too have been walking around the house lookin for things to sell. I have a ton of home school teacher books i can sell but its the wrong season for that but hope to do that soon. I am relying on income tax returns too. My dh is down to 4 days now, so we are going to be hurting for a long long time. We have no idea what we are going to do. Hugs to you. I know exactly how you feel.

I have an extra Graco car seat with base that was given to us by BIL - their baby outgrew it. Very good condition, never in a car accident, etc. We already had one (different brand, fits with stroller), though, so we won't be using it.

I would be happy to send you this one. It is taking up space in our storage room. PM me.

First, I understand how money can seem so tight it could strangle you, so i'm sorry I can't help there.

Next, Call up you local fire station and see if they help with or give away free carseats. They will even install it so it is done correctly.

Also, like some people have said, try Craigs list and word of mouth with your friends.

I was going to say call FD too. DH's uncle works at one and he called the other night to seee if we needed one, and if we did then to came down and they would put it in my van.
I am watching a couple on ebay, so if I don't get one of them we were planning on using the carseat from Dakota... it's sun faded BAD but it will work. It's a seat that stays in the van and it is front and rear facing like 5 to 40 lbs.

Oh yeah, if you are on WIC. They may be ale to help you found a carseat. I'm not really sure, but it is a idea, because they are all about helping mommies and babies!?!?!

Thanks ladies, I am bit calmer today. Just a bit. It seems my mood swings have hit full force these last couple of weeks.

So I have figured out a few things. SIL has a car seat. It is from 01, but I figured if I need it just from the hospital to home we should be fine. We are 10 minutes from the hospital with traffic.

Bills, well there is really nothing I can do.
-We have car insurance that was due yesterday, so I am now waiting for the pay this now bill. Which I will take up to our agent and she will hold it for me, but still put in the puter as saying paid.

-Water bill is due on Wednesday. That is $88 for 3 months. I don't have the money for it, so that is up in the air as of now. If all else fails we will have to put it on dh's work american express and just have them take it out of his check.

-My Dr bill has to be paid 2-20. I owe $411 by my records and they are saying $500 something so I have to check into that.

DH has been with his company since 1997. He is the longest employee there. He is very tight with the 2 owners. As in the he is asking to borrow money from his boss today. Which we hate doing, but we have to. If that does not work then we will be pretty stinky till the 30th.

I did look into WIC, but of course we make like $200 over and the said sorry we can't help you.

I know we will get by, it just feels like we won't. I think it makes it worse knowing we have a check coming to use and just will not get here fast enough.
