Poor DH- nursery issues Empty Poor DH- nursery issues

Poor DH spent more than half of his 2 week Christmas vacation sanding, priming and painting the walls and trim of the nursery. Today when he went to peel off the blue painters tape from the trim, strips of the brand new trim paint peeled off exposing the primed woodwork underneath. So he spent days doing it the first time, and now he has to spend this whole weekend re-sanding the places where the paint came off and re-painting the trim around the windows, doors, and baseboards.

I feel so bad for him because he just started a new job as a highschool teacher before Christmas and has spent hours every evening doing lesson preps, helping me out, and then getting up at 5am to be at school. Then he worked through his whole vacation on house stuff. This was supposed to be his weekend "off" where we moved all the furniture into the nursery and started doing the fun stuff to get ready for the baby. I feel even worse because if I were able to help with the painting and sanding it would take half the time.

I fixed him dinner and am going to clean around the house tomorrow to hopefully make it a little easier for him to re-paint the room. He has been so good helping me and providing support, I just wish there was more I could do.

awee thats so sad! Its good you recognize how hard he works and wanting to make up for it. Next time he needs to take the paint off while its still wet. We learned that the hard way too. Or if it dries before he takes it off, use a razor blade to make it even as he is pulling the tape off. That worked well for us.

Cant wait to see pictures!

That stinks. I know how hard he worked on priming and striping the nursery walls. My dh did that too with the nursery for dc 2. We also learned the hard way about needing to remove the tape while the paint is still wet. Crying or Very sad

Maybe give him a massage tonight or tomorrow to ease some of his stress over this.

Awwwww, poor guy. At least you recognize how hard he is working and while its nice to feel bad, I wouldn't feel "too" bad, he wants to help and he should help, 50% of the responsibility is HIS...a lot of guys forget that, and sadly enough most of the time we forget that too and try and do everything ourselves...sounds like you have a great DH there to help you...thank you and appreciative jestures go a long way with my DH...
