I get to go home today

Im sooooo happy to be going home today!!! ofcourse sad to have to leave Madison here but on the other hand glad to be with my other dc. They have been missing me alot. Im happy I will get to be home for Christmas.
Madison has lost weight which is normal for babies at first. She now weighs 2 # 4 1/2 oz. They gave her 2 cc of breast milk through a feeding tube and Im hoping she can digest that ok. She was only on ventalator for a few hours after birth then put on cpap, and been tolerating the turning down of oxygen so far. We breath 21% oxygen and she is already down to needing 24% oxygen. She is under the bellirubin lights now as some juandace was begining. so It looks like she's laid back on a beach with her sunglasses on tanning, lol. Since she was so early they will do a u/s on her head at about 1 week old to see if brain bleed is there or not. Its pretty common this early. Hoping they wont find any. Her hair is still all icky and matted down as they said they cant wash it until shes about 2 weeks old. Moving her head like that can actually cause a bleed. so Im fine with her hair looking like that for as long as needed.Otherwise she is really doing very well for her gestational age the DR say. So Im so proud of her.

I am so glad you get to go home! I am sure it is very hard having to leave Madison. I am so happy to hear that she is doing so well. She will be home with you guys before you know it.

I am so glad you will be home with your family for Christmas, Baby Madison will be in good hands, and they will take great care of her!!! Keep us posted on that strong little girl of yours!!! We are praying for her!!!

I'm so glad you get to go home today to your family! I bet they are so happy to have you home, esp for Christmas. Are you going to be able to go visit Madison on Christmas? It sounds like she's doing really well. Please keep us posted on her, and share some new pics of her whenever you get to take them.

What a little trooper! It sounds like you're both doing very well. Congrats on getting to go home finally and getting to spend the holidays with the rest of your family. I'm keeping you both in my thoughts!

I know you feel torn, happy to be going home, sad for leaving Madison behind. She is in good hands, and I am sure she will be home in your arms before you know it.

Okay first I am so glad your able to come home for xmas to be with your other kids. I know its got to be hard trying to divide your time up between the two families. Before you know it she will be home in your arms. Second.. I could not stop staring at your picture of Madison. She is sooo beautiful.

I know you are happy to be going home to be with your family. Madison will be in good hands. She sounds like she is a little fighter. She is absolutely beautiful, even with the matted hair. She is in our prayers for continued strength and good health.

It sounds like Madison is doing AMAZINGLY well! To already be weaning off the O2, needing only CPAP is amazing by itself! She is tough momma!!

It is so very hard to leave your little one behind. Don't be shy about calling the NICU anytime you cannot be there. I know I called the NICU every hour on the hour during the times I could not be there.

So how are you doing being home??? Are you heading back to the hospital soon??

Being home is great!!! I actually slept all night. I havent did that since who knows when. The kids were all so happy to see home. I called to check on Madison and she has gained a ounce back now at 2 # 5.8 oz. No problems overnight. I cant wait to see her again this weekend.

So glad to hear little Miss Madison is gaining some weight!! I hope you can relax a bit and enjoy being home with your family, even though it's gotta be really hard being away from her!! Glad you got some sleep, it's important to get it while you can and let the nurses take care of the princess--before you know it you'll have her at home and be up at night!

WAHOOOOO, gaining weight is GREAT news...I wish we could say the same for ourselves - LOL.
