This is my fourth pregnancy and the FIRST time I've failed the one hour!

However, I'm not sure if it is entirely accurate. I remember having to fast before doing the test. I guess I wasn't aware that I was going to do this at today's appt, but I did. I have a bowl of raisin bran for breakfast and a banana with a Naked juice on the way to the clinic (an hour away). does anyone know if that makes a difference? I also passed some protein AND sugar in my urine this morning. I don't know what the deal is!

I'm still contracting. It's more than the "oooo, my belly is tight". It's more like "phew, I need to focus" and all my energy is ZAPPED! I had a week of prodromal labor w/ DD and that's exactly what this feels like.

I had a VE and I'm still long and closed which is good. I just don't know. I have to take it easy or I'm contracting and cramping. I just wish it were March already!

Yuk on the contractions! Keep an eye on them. I had them with Grayson. I checked my cervix in the shower and noticed i started to dialate. I went in and was 2cm and 50% at 22 weeks. Luckily he made it to his due date.

I have never failed the test either. I think you were supposed to fast. Tell them you might have messed up the results by eating. I know in the past i have eaten before the test and it turned out fine.

When do you know there bad contractions? For the last week or so Ive been getting slightly uncomfortable and period like cramps. Ive been watching them and they have no pattern. Today they got bad though to the point that when ever I moved it started one up...it only lasted for about ten min. I thought maybe the baby was sitting in a bad spot because it was a sharp pain down by my right side of my pelvis. Im also thinking alot of its from the stress Ive been going through due to the cyst. Im just not sure when to worry.

Yes eating that would have messed with your results. I would ask them if you can do the 1 hour test again since you ate. Then take it from there.

My Dr. told me I could eat?? Should i not eat before I go in?

My Dr told me I should eat something I would normally eat at that time of morning.

I just read online that you do NOT need to fast. Unless you are having a Fasting Glucose Test, which will check before you drink the liquid and then after to see how your body processes the sugar, but generally speaking you do not need to fast, the test is just checking for how you react to the liquid.

I just had mine and I was told I could eat dinner the night before and then just have water until the test--nothing with sugar in it, just water. My test was one where they drew blood the first time, then I could eat, then they drew blood again every 1/2 hour for an hour and a half. It was probably just my test since I live in Peru and my doc is German--man, sometimes I wish I were back in the States!!

There are different test's. If you have not has your test call your office to get directions .

Mine is not eating or drinking 4 hours before. Except water. Now I was not thinking and put some gum in my mouth to chew. I started freaking out when I was driving. I looked at the pack and it said sugar free. I hope I was ok. If I fail I am going to be really pissed.
