we live on a ranch. Every year after Thanksgiving we go tree hunting! We look all year long for the perfect tree. We have a couple scouted out, it just depends on the weather if were able to reach them or not!

But my DH WILL NOT let me do the tree earlier than that! It starts drying out and I constantly yell at the kids to stop touching the ornaments! So, I do get his point, but I want my tree!

The Friday after Thanksgiving that is my To-Do, put up the tree and get the decorations out. We have to rearrange everything, our DD (16M) will attack the tree, and we have to move all of her toys into another room once we bring the tree out, she will be so confused.

santa I have wanted to put our tree up for a while now, but my DH keeps saying Evil or Very Mad . Every year we put the tree up the Friday or Saturday after Thanksgiving, but I am leaving Monday the 24th to go to Fort Drum, New York. So he said that we will put it up when I get back. SO this year our tree will only be up for about 2 half or 3 weeks before Christmas. Crying or Very sad My boys love the tree and will and sit and watch the lights forever. But my DH doesn't want to put it up without me or go 2 weeks yelling at the boys to get away from it. Mad MEANIE!!! ANYHOW, I am hoping next year we will be back on track with putting it up RIGHT after Thanksgiving. Have a wonderful Thanksgiving and I am sure I'll have lots to read when I get back.

I am not allowed to put mine up until after Thanksgiving. I know it sucks but it's tradition. I am going out of town for Thanksgiving so I will put all my things up the Monday after. I CAN'T WAIT!!!

I will say the one reason I put ours up is because we are gone from Wenesday before Thanksgiving to that Sunday. Then we are gone for a weekend or 2 in December and I just want to be able to enjoy it a little bit. Plus I am a big kid. Wink

SO, I freaking tried to put the tree up last night and let me tell you it was BAD news. DH mom let us borrow her tree because it is a REALLY nice tree. Well last year his brother and sister-in-law used the tree and didnt package it right because they are freaking lazy or something. So the whole tree was messed up in the first place. Welll, there are 3 parts to the tree and I put the middle part on first because the tree was put back in the package wrong! SO it took me 45 minutes to get each individual branch to look good from being stuffed into the box wrong and then I noticed it was the middle part! So I had to have DH take it off the stand and by then I was already mad. He put the bottom part in the stand and then put the middle part on because he didnt want to lean it on the wall cause I had spent so much time fixing all of the branches. Well when I went to plug it in the WHOLE bottom section would not light up!! This is a really nice tree so I was already so mad and emotional I was swearing as usual and almost in tears. Well DH was smart and got out of the room lol but he called his brother and his brother said last year it wouldnt light up either. Well WTF! If something doesnt work and its not yours you reaking fix it! ITs common sense and just the right thing to do. So now I am bad mouthing my BIL and SIL and so mad. BUt luckily my sister was there and she was like, lets just check each individual light and see which one is burnt out OMG have you seen those little lights! Well we tried to take the middle part off so it would be easier but it was stuck TIGHT onto the bottom part so we just ended up taking the whole thing off of the stand and ruining the 45 min I spent fixing the branches. ANyways after about 10 minutes I was like, this is stupid we should be checking the fuses and low and behold it was the fuse that was out! Just a simple 2 minutes to change the damn fuse and it was fixed. Why the hell didnt his brother and sis-inlaw fix it last year???????? SO annoying I just hate it when people dont take care of things! So the tree is finally up but there are no decorations on it. It was 10 by the time I got it up and i had to work this morning. Thank God my sister was there to help me or i think the psycho chick in my might have done some serious damage to the walls in our house lol I will put a picture up Monday when I finally get it finished! I bought blue ornaments for our little boy!!!!

Becky, your tree is beautiful!! I am so sad, we don't get our tree until the first weekend in December so the tree doesn't die Sad But, we do put up Christmas lights and decorate the rest of the house (inside and out) this weekend cheers I will post pictures after it is done usually we do a gingerbread house but we remodeled our house this year so there is no more wood so I don't know what we will do, but I will post pictures!!

I agree, your tree is beautiful!! I absolutely LOVE decorating the house for Christmas, DH always makes me wait until after Thanksgiving, but it takes all my will power to do it!! DH is taking our boys camping on Friday, so I will get the whole house to myself and can decorate as late as I want and the boys won't be trying to "help" out either!! Love that DH!!
