Maternity Jeans Help! Empty Maternity Jeans Help!

Post  daj72705 Tue Nov 11, 2008 10:02 pm

I am having a hard time finding jeans that fit me. I found a pair at Motherhood and thought I would like them. I was so wrong! I spent all of an hour pulling them up. I couldn't take it any longer and had to leave work to get some sweat pants to wear for the rest of the day. I miss wearing my jeans....anyone have any suggestions?

Thanks,
Dee

I absolutely LOVE my maternity jeans from Old Navy ... I'm a fan of the full panel.. some women HATE the full panel, but it makes me feel supported and "tucked in"..haha. Also, I have one pair of "Maternity Announcements" jeans and they are SO comfy - of course, I can't find another single pair of them..haha. I think the reason I like both of these brands, is because they have a lil section on the panel that you can adjust - either tighten or losen, depending on what you need.. so they will grow with my belly.

I do have a couple of pairs of dresspants that are the roll & demi panel.. I like those too, mainly because they are stretchy and let me breath & move.. I would definitely give Old Navy a shot.. and hey, if you order them and they dont work, they have hassle free returns!

GOOD LUCK!!!

I bought 2 pairs of Motherhood maternity jeans with their "secret panel" (think that's what it's called). They fit great in the fitting room. However, like Dee, all the damn things do is fall down. I tried to shrink them in the dryer, but they stretch right back out. I think it's the denim that stretches too much. They are terrible, anyone reading this thread who has not bought them.....stay far, far away from them!

I have to try jeans on in the store, and unfortunately I never see plus size maternity anywhere other than Motherhood. I don't want to buy online, pay shipping, and then have to drive almost 45 minutes to the mall to return them if they don't fit. Neutral

Thats what I got was the secret panel, I am taking them back tomorrow to exchange them for something else. Maybe the full panel ones will work. They only do store credit so worse case I can get a few tops and then try some Old Navy jeans.....I guess I am just not use to the panels. Thanks for the info Sarina. I like the hassle free returns, do you know if you have to do an exchange or if you get a refund?

Good luck with that return. They have the worst return policy out there. They say they only take returns on unworn, not damaged, tags must not be removed, blah, blah, blah...

Dee,

Old Navy will refund your money if they dont fit. I too wasn't used to the panel - but like I was saying, with the little tab that you can adjust the panel (not the denim, the actual panel), so it adjusts the tightness of the TOP of the panel, so it kinda sucks you in and makes it so the jeans aren't going anywhere.

GOOD LUCK!!

That sounds good being able to adjust the panel. I was thinking too that maybe one of those bella bands would work on helping to hold up my pants. I think I will check into that possibility too. Especially since Motherhood will probably not take back the one pair of jeans I took the tags off of.

I actually really like the secret fit panel on the Motherhood jeans. They are beyond comfortable. Mine fall down if I wear them by themselves too...but I always use my Bella Band with them and it works out perfectly. You could try that too. I find a lot of my other jeans that have panels cut my belly in half (or some other fraction) and I look like I have a baby belly and an "upper" belly...totally unattractive.

Right now I only have one pair of maternity jeans and they are the secret fit ones. I had to get a small petite and they are still too big! But if I tuck the secret fit down under my belly they stay up better then if I wear it over my baby bump. All I know is that they were cheap and right now that is all that matters lol.

I really like the secret fit panel, it is the rest of the jeans that I have issues with. I did go down a size, too. However, standing there in the fitting room vs walking around just didn't cut it. They didn't fall down in the fitting room.

The secret panel stays in place, and I wear it above my bump. The jeans tend to fall down and the crotch ends up half way to my knees. I'm constantly hiking them up at the place where the panel meets the denim.

Millerwifey, when you wear your bella band, does it go over both the panel and the denim? If so, I may have to get one of those since I can't take these jeans back. Is the band comfortable or binding feeling?

It goes over the very top of the denim and the panel. They come in several sizes (and you can get them where the bottom is lace-trimmed so you can show it like an undershirt) and I think they are super comfy...but I do also like the feeling of being "held in" a bit. DH is always bitching at me because he has to go through like 4 layers to find the actual belly (shirt, undershirt, bella band, jeans panel, etc)...but who cares about his frustration if I'm comfy, right?? Very Happy

Millerwifey, that is so funny he bitches about going through so many layers, my DH is the exact same. He is always like, no wonder we have so much laundry! LOL but I LOVE my bella band. It is the only reason I can still wear my pre-pregnancy pants because they are lat least 2 inches from buttoning, but when i wear my bella band everything is smooth and in place! I just bought the knock off one from Motherhood... and I am sure by the end of this pregnancy I will have bought a few more!

I went to Motherhood and tried on my jeans with the bella band. I walked around the store for a while and my pants didn't fall down. Yeah! So I am really hoping that the band does the trick for me. I like how the secret panel is so thin and stretchy. I wish I had gotten the band a while ago!

even if I wear the secret fit jeans with the panel over my belly, they still fall and sag in the butt.

i give up.. just a few months left.. I'll just keep hiking those suckers up... not spending another penny on jeans (unless I outgrow these). fingers crossed i don't!

sorry not much help here.

I've been wearing maternity jeans that I had gotten a last year from Ross, can't beat $ 15 jeans!!

But I heard that Boscov's has some nice full panel, the kind that like spandex like... I'm gonna be looking there, I'd like a new pair or two.

We should all put our horomones to good use and call and complain. It would be funny if we set up a schedule so that each of us were calling one right after the other on the same day. With their sucky return policy, I doubt anything would happen, but it would be funny to do nonetheless.
