Rant rant rant
Well all of my threads seem to be negative that I post... but I think you all would be pretty upset if you KNEW you had a bladder infection, which seemed to start about 3 weeks ago... only to wait in the emergency room for 6 hours, yes... six, it's always 6 hours before they tell you anything, for them to diagnos me with bacterial vaginosis, prescribe me the most horrible and foul tasting medicine that was an absolute horror to take each time and then to have the same sypmtoms after taking the medicine. My ob/gyn took my urine sample also, and said the results came back as contaminated... and so I finally went back in to give them another urine sample, because it was still hurting when I pee, even when I didn't pee, I couldnt sleep because my lower abdominen was killing me and I kept worrying that this 'non-existant' infection would eventually harm my unborn child.
I have had a bladder infection before, and so when I got tested for it I pretty much figured they would say 'ah-ha! yes, you do infact have a UTI" and send me on my merry way with my medicine and i wouldn't be here 3 weeks later taking a new batch of medicine for the uti that i now somehow have...
What are doctors thinking? I'm sorry... this is pretty upsetting to me, and to my SO as well. We know that prolonged, untreated bladder infections can cause complications, and premature birth, and I know that is the last thing any parent-to-be would ever want for their child!
I knew what I had in the first place, why couldn't they of just gave me medicine for it? I feel drained...
I haven't been sleeping too well at all because all of the uncomfortableness, and I just really can't wait to hear my baby's heartbeat at my next appt. and have my gender U/S and know that everything is alright, my emotions are sky-rocketing...

Ugh, that sounds like a horrible experience! You'd think with so many of us having UTIs and knowing what they're like, that you could go to your doctor, tell them what you have, and walk out with an automatic prescription. I went to walk-in a little over a week ago when I woke up with one (my midwife's office is closed on Fridays), and I had to wait over an hour for them to confirm what I knew too. Luckily I got medicine then, but I feel some of your frustration.
I'm glad you got something for it now, and that you're going to be sleeping better soon!

So your screen name has 1991 in it. So I am guessing you are or will be 17. I hate to say it, but some Dr's treat you like shit for becoming preggers so young. Which is why they most likley did'nt give you meds. I know it sounds crazy but it's true.
I got pregger with my first at 18. This one Dr treated me like pure crap. Everything I did was wrong. If I gained 3lbs I should have only gained 2. If I gained 2 it should have been like 4. He was so rough on exams I would hurt the whole next day. If I was sick there was nothing he could give me, however the other Dr's *might* know something. He was a DICK. When I had my second I was married everything changed. He was so nice. Like putting a check next to married in my folder and wearing a ring really changed who I was. The same with my third, he was great. I go to him next week, so we will see.
Next time you have a UTI, just call and ask to speak with a nurse. Then tell the nurse whats going on and she should be able to call you something in for the UTI.

Trust me I understand. I get UTI's very easily but even more when I am pregnant. I have already had 3 this pregnancy and I have pretty much the same due date that you do. They put me in so much pain. I am also not sleeping well at all which is making going to work every day very hard. I love love love being pregnant but UTI's and sleeping at night is terrible.
